Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and ClearIngredient ("we," "us," or "our"), operated by Mike J., governing your access to and use of the ClearIngredient application and all related services available at clearingredient.app.

By accessing or using ClearIngredient, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age, that you have read and understood these Terms, and that you agree to be bound by them. If you are using ClearIngredient on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

Description of Service

ClearIngredient is a food ingredient transparency application that allows users to scan food labels, look up ingredient information, and access educational content about food ingredients. The application provides:

• Camera-based ingredient label scanning and AI-powered analysis
• An ingredient dictionary with educational content
• Fast food restaurant ingredient lookup
• Personalized features including health goal filtering and avoid lists
• Educational content including ingredient breakdowns and written analysis
• Premium subscription features for enhanced functionality

User Accounts

To access certain features of ClearIngredient, you must create an account. When creating your account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain and promptly update your account information
• Keep your password confidential and not share it with others
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account at contact@clearingredient.app
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend accounts that violate these Terms, contain inaccurate information, or are used for fraudulent purposes.

Subscription Plans & Billing

ClearIngredient offers the following subscription tiers:

• Free Plan: Limited daily scans and basic features at no charge
• Premium Monthly: $4.99 per month, billed monthly
• Premium Annual: $39.99 per year, billed annually

By subscribing to a premium plan, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis at the applicable rate until you cancel. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You will receive a reminder before any renewal charge.

All payments are processed by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. We do not store your credit card information on our servers. By providing payment information, you also agree to Stripe's terms of service (opens in new tab).

Prices are subject to change with 30 days notice to active subscribers. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

Cancellation & Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at contact@clearingredient.app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to premium features until the end of your paid period.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use ClearIngredient only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

• Use the app in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the application or its infrastructure
• Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access or extract data from the application
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the application
• Use the app to transmit harmful, offensive, or unlawful content
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation
• Share your account credentials with others
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the application

Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of ClearIngredient — including but not limited to the application design, text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio clips, and software — are the exclusive property of ClearIngredient and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use ClearIngredient for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, or publicly display any content from the application without our express written permission.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The ingredient information, safety ratings, and analysis provided by ClearIngredient are based on publicly available scientific research and are intended for general educational purposes. They do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making dietary decisions based on health conditions.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ClearIngredient and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, health outcomes, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the application.

In no event shall our total liability to you for all claims arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the application exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ClearIngredient, its operators, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses — including reasonable legal fees — arising from your use of the application, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to ClearIngredient at our sole discretion, without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in conduct harmful to the application, other users, or third parties.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at contact@clearingredient.app. Upon termination, your right to use the application ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Georgia.

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of ClearIngredient after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
